toronto

once again, telling people that you are from singapore doesn't mean that they know you are not from china! contrary, they think that singapore is in china.

my memory of the toronto trip is rather fuzzy now. we went to toronto by a greyhound bus which required us to change a bus at ottawa. greyhound is the same one that mabes mentioned about a girl being killed on the bus to alberta. however, we reached ottawa late and we nearly missed the bus to toronto. we managed to catch the bus but the bus was already packed. initially, the bus driver was unhapy and asked us why we were so late, but after understanding the situation, he apologized for our delay and promised to get another bus to send us to toronto. this is quite amazing to me, and i bet i will never get services in france. so the lot of us + two other passengers have an entire bus to ourselves!

on the first day, we went to The Exhibition. the usual ticket price is 15 dollars, but since it's the opening day, it costs only 1.75CAD. it's a very big area with fun fairs, games, and a lot of other random stuff. there were great discounts on clothes and merchandises, and Stitches(a popular chain store in canada) was selling guy clothes for 2.99CAD inside. the quality of the clothes was pretty good too.

reminded me of the candy apple i saw in disneyland two years back

very cute softoy, but i guess i'm a bit old for such games?

and somone was performing how to balance rocks

magic performance. during the finale, the lady had to escape from the water after being chained by locks.

this is the most exciting and freaky performance in the exhibition. the hypnotist got audience to go up onto stage, and hypnotized them, asking them to do all sort of silly things. it was freaky because those hypnotized looked awake and their eyes were open, but they were actually unconscious of what they were doing. for instance, the hypnotist got a girl to go up to the stage to shout her name whenever he touched the mike, but if he let go of the mike, the girl will forget her name. so every once in a while, the girl will rush up to the stage and then when asked for her name, she cannot remember because the hypnotist already let go of the mike.

the performance lasted one hour, and after that, the hypnotist woke up all of them and they didn't remember anythings that happened. before he woke up them, he told them that if you go to the toilet, you will recall back everything. so the sg girls actually followed one girl who was hypnotized to the toilet and they said that she was so embarrassed after realising what she had done. lol.

a similar performance 2 years ago.
